"Pool Play" This shoot was as unusual as it looks! The day was quite warm but I was fortunately comfortable thanks to this mid century pool and parasol. The kidney shaped pool was great, but my favorite part about it was the custom vintage style wooden diving board, something you usually only see in 40's and 50's magazines featuring pin ups sitting happily on top of them. |

"Kinbaku" I'm thrilled to have been photographed by using the collodion process, also known as wet plates. The procedure is a rather interesting one, and requires the photographer to have the entire process completed before the plate is dry. Marcus would have to coat the plate in one part of the studio, run to me and load it into the camera, shoot the one shot (which I would have to hold the pose for 30 seconds, with as little movement a possible), then run off to the darkroom to complete the development steps of the process. In the end, you hold your breath and hope the shot came out. Each shot took about 15 minutes to complete. Many things can affect the final outcome, and we had a few setbacks ourselves, but here are the final stunning shots. |
